Coach Joe Venice Named New Head Coach of Yonkers Force

We are thrilled to announce that Joseph Venice, a distinguished alumnus of Stepinac High School (Class of ’04) and a dedicated faculty member, has been appointed as the new head coach of the Yonkers Force. This exciting new chapter follows his impactful tenure as the assistant head coach of the Crusaders’ championship varsity football team.

Joseph Venice, a Yonkers native, has an impressive background in both academics and athletics. After his stellar high school career at Stepinac, he earned B.A. Degrees in English and Communications from Fordham University and a Masters in English Education from Lehman College, and he is currently completing a second Masters in Education.

Since returning to Stepinac in 2009, Venice has made significant contributions as a teacher of American literature, British literature, and College Writing. His coaching career at Stepinac includes leading the junior varsity football team to an outstanding 60-11 overall record and being a key part of the varsity football coaching staff. Additionally, Venice has coached track and moderated several clubs, including the Rotary Club, MSG Varsity, and Travel Club.

As he steps into his new role with the Yonkers Force, Venice brings with him a wealth of experience and a proven track record of guiding student-athletes to success both on and off the field. His leadership will undoubtedly build on the Force’s tradition of excellence and help prepare student-athletes for collegiate and professional achievements.

Paul Carty, Principal of Stepinac High School, praised Venice’s commitment, saying, “He will build on Stepinac’s tradition of outstanding members of the varsity teams’ coaching staffs who help prepare student-athletes to excel at college and in their future careers.” Venice’s role at Stepinac also involved fostering academic success among athletes, ensuring their growth and development from freshman year through graduation.

Reflecting on his journey, Venice remarked, “Stepinac is a great family that instills great pride in me. It shaped my life throughout my high school years, and now, I feel blessed to do the same for the current students.” His deep connection to his alma mater and dedication to student development are qualities that will serve him well in his new leadership position with the Yonkers Force.
