Yonkers Force Defeats Ketcham Indians in season opener 21-14
The Yonkers Force varsity team opened their season in spectacular fashion with a hard-fought 21-14 victory over the Ketcham Indians! In a thrilling battle under the lights, QB #7 Nazir Fields was the undeniable star of the show, lighting up the field with a massive 55-yard rushing touchdown, where he weaved through defenders like a seasoned pro! As if that wasn’t enough, Fields dropped an absolute dime, connecting with WR #1 Joshua Testamark on an 85-yard BOMB that electrified the crowd and swung the momentum firmly in the Force’s favor! 💨🎯
But it wasn’t just the aerial attack that overwhelmed Ketcham. Aiden Valerio also showcased his power and speed, bulldozing his way into the end zone for a crucial rushing touchdown that kept the Force’s offense moving full steam ahead. 🚂🔥
On the defensive side, the Force displayed grit and determination, making sure no lead was safe for the Indians. Jose de Jesus and Tristian Myers came up HUGE, each grabbing an interception at pivotal moments in the game, shutting down Ketcham’s offensive drives. 🛑🔒 With these big defensive stops and a ferocious 4th-quarter stand, the defense put the game to bed, showing just how tough and resilient this Force team is when the pressure’s on! 💪
What makes this victory even sweeter is that it’s the FIRST win for new head coach Joe Venice, kicking off his era with the Force on the perfect note! His leadership and strategic calls were on full display as the team executed their game plan with precision. This win is the beginning of something special for the Force, and Coach Venice couldn’t have asked for a better debut! 🎉👊
But the journey is just beginning! Next up, the Force face their crosstown rivals, the Yonkers Brave, in what promises to be an epic showdown. These two teams have a long-standing rivalry, and the intensity is guaranteed to be off the charts! Catch the game next week at 1:30 pm, right here at home. Mark your calendars because this is a game you do NOT want to miss! 🏆🔥
